Corridors and stairwells are the traffic routes of your office building.
This is where employees meet and communicate with each other “through the grapevine”. For external visitors, however, these routes are also almost like a business card for the building. If the lighting is right, finding their way around the building will be easy and their first impression is certain to be a good one.
Of course, traffic flow in your corridors and stairwells is also subject to fluctuations, just like rush-hour traffic on public roads. When there’s nobody around, there’s no need for full lighting. A very simple task for our motion sensors.
Bulkhead luminaires are mainly used as ceiling or wall luminaires in stairwells, corridors or entrance areas. Motion-controlled lighting is useful in these passageways. The specially developed CLE ADV5 EM SO module has a suitable cut-out for the smartSWITCH G2 HF sensor, which switches the luminaire on and off as required. Thanks to the sensor’s high-frequency technology, which enables motion detection through materials such as plastic and glass, no sensor cut-out is required in the luminaire housing. The delay time, the detection range and the light value at which the luminaire remains switched off can be set quickly and easily using DIP switches. With the right choice of driver, an ON/OFF luminaire, a standard luminaire with corridorFUNCTION or an emergency lighting luminaire with a simple corridorFUNCTION can be selected.
The standard ON/OFF luminaire has a compact flexC driver and automatically switches the light on and off as required.
By using compact one4all drivers, the corridorFUNCTION can also be used to adjust the switch-off behaviour to suit individual requirements. The light is dimmed slowly and brought to a minimum dimming level after a certain time or switched off completely.
This setting can be made during the manufacture of the luminaire via NFC using companionSUITE. Adjustments can also be made on site using the 4Service app on a smartphone or tablet.
The emergency lighting luminaire requires a combined EMpowerLED Basic CLE emergency lighting LED driver and an additional battery. This driver has a simple corridorFUNCTION. The dimmed switch-off behaviour is defined here and cannot be individually adjusted.
The three luminaire versions above can also be used as wireless luminaires. Here, instead of the standard smartSWITCH HF sensor, the bdw smartSWITCH HF sensor, which is part of the basicDIM Wireless family, is used. This allows luminaires to be integrated into basicDIM Wireless, sceneCOM S or sceneCOM evo.
